Reservations for Rafting on the Vltava River
The Šumava National Park was established in 1991, and rafting on several Šumava rivers was permitted as early as 1993. Rafting was not limited by any conditions except the water level of 50 cm at the Soumarský Most location.
Familiarize yourself with them before registering (see Registration Conditions).
Dear paddlers and friends of Šumava,
Unfortunately, this year’s season on the Teplá Vltava River goes down in history as one of the lowest in water levels since the registration system was introduced. The water level of the Teplá Vltava at Soumarský Most has remained well below the 40 cm mark for a long time.
Given that the current conditions do not allow even guided trips (which require a minimum of 50 cm), and the forecast for the coming days and weeks offers no hope of improvement, the Šumava National Park Administration is IMMEDIATELY SUSPENDING PADDLING and any new registrations on the Soumarský Most – Pěkná section until further notice.
Up until now, our guides have been on standby in case of heavy rainfall that would raise the water level above the required 50 cm. However, current weather trends and forecasts for the coming days and weeks offer no hope that the water level in the river will improve. All applicants who have booked dates will receive a full refund of their reservation fee.
Registration for Rafting on the Teplá Vltava in the section Soumarský Most – Pěkná start from April 1, 2026 9:00 a.m.
No floating (water under 50 cm)
